Project-based Learning

The International Corporate Governance (EC320) bachelor course at Lifelong College of Learning, Shanghai Jiaotong University (China) was taught during summer 2024, utilizing Moodle to support the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology. The course required students to collaborate, design, refine, and share their ideas and experiences with authentic audiences and peer groups, both in the classroom and within physical and digital communities. Moodle provided a digital learning environment equipped with various tools that enabled students to complete activities individually or in groups, either synchronously or asynchronously.

Investigate complex questions related to corporate governance by facilitating Inquiry-Based Learning

Propose hypotheses and explanations based on research and case studies.

Engage in meaningful discussions to articulate and refine their ideas.

Critically challenge perspectives by debating and analyzing different viewpoints.

Experiment with new concepts, testing and applying knowledge in a dynamic learning environment.

By integrating PBL methodology with interactive digital tools, the course fostered an engaging, inquiry-driven, and collaborative learning experience, preparing students for real-world governance challenges.

For insights from educators experienced in implementing project-based learning in a course supported with Moodle, we invite you to connect with teachers who have implemented this approach in the community.
