MPP Business Simulation was presented by Dr. Jean-Yves LE CORRE, Visiting Lecturer, EM Strasbourg Business School (2019-2023) for Fiorina Prize for Pedagogical Innovation in September 2025. The project developed best practices for immersive solutions in business strategy and management control education. In MPP Business Simulation, student teams prepare a business case to solve a fictional company's problem. They participate in a series of learning activities to create a strategic plan, a KPI dashboard, and a prototype performance dashboard in data analysis software.
Authentic Activities: Learning activities mirror real-world organizational tasks, such as meeting with the accounting department or collecting data from external sources.
Collaborative Design: The simulation is built for social collaboration, featuring online discussions, group project work, and presentations as core components.
Immersive Spaces: Learners can enter a 'mentoring room' for guidance or a 'conference room' to attend expert seminars, simulating an authentic professional environment
Flexible Learning Path: To reflect real-life
complexity, the learning design is a 'blend' of unstructured activities,
allowing learners to navigate freely between real-time synchronous
tasks and self-paced asynchronous work
As the only business school in France that is part of an internationally recognized university, EM Strasbourg's primary goal is the dissemination of management knowledge, know-how, and skills. It trains students in an international environment to become effective and globally aware business managers, instilling the core values of diversity, sustainable development, and ethics.
