The course 'Innovation Management Techniques & Tools' was taught in December 2023 on line at EM Strasbourg Business School based on the learning prototype ‘MPP business simulation’ developed on Huyixiang (沪羿祥) EduLab. The course emphasizes the development of behavioral and cognitive skills which are highly in demand in the management accounting profession nowadays.

The course was delivered fully online. A business case scenario was created featuring a fictitious company called ‘Mengxiang Plastics Products’ (MPP). Students were immersed into the fictitious company’s environment as if they were acting like consultants and were assigned the responsibility to propose a strategic plan and dashboard of performance indicators for the company. ‘MPP business simulation’ follows the Classroom-as-Organization (CaO) instructional model to lay the foundations of the structure and components of the immersive learning experience, and recreate multiple contexts where learners encounter typical workplace scenarios when creating a dashboard of performance measures for a company. In addition, ‘MPP business simulation’ stimulates various types of interactions with fictitious roles to support active and collaborative learning behaviors.
