Project-based Learning using Qlik Sense

In June 2022, a team of researchers, under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Yves Le Corre, conducted an action research study entitled “Constructivist-based Models of Blended Learning: An Innovative Learning Model for Management Accounting Education.” The project was supported by the XJTLU Summer Undergraduate Research Fund Programme.

The study led to the development of a learning prototype that integrates a Data Analytics Technological Authoring Tool Application to enhance both individual and group cognition. The prototype incorporated data visualization, collaborative learning tools, and digital artefacts generated through formative and summative assessments.

Qlik Sense was used as the primary authoring tool. Its application supported cognition and social interaction across different stages of the learning process. Thanks to the Qlik Academic Programme offered by Qlik Corporation, a global provider of data analytics solutions, Qlik Sense was made available to all students at XJTLU, enabling wide access to these innovative learning practices.
